Extra Credit Opportunities
Each six weeks offers several opportunities for extra credit.
Extra credit assignments are worth up to 5 points on your six week grade.
Each assignment will be evaluated on an individual basis.
All extra credit assignments must be typed and printed or emailed to Mrs. Hill.
The assignments are as follows.
1. Attend a movie screening at the Foreign Language Film Club.
Write a 75-word critique of the film. Ms. Rangel must sign a slip to prove you were there.
2. Find an article (online, in a newspaper or magazine) that relates to some aspect of Spanish/French history, culture or language. Write a 75-word synopsis of the article and a 75-word reaction to it. You must provide me with a copy of the article or a reference the URL in your paper.
3. Attend an exhibit at a local museum, musical, play or other performance, of one happens to be in the area featuring a French or Hispanic artist. Write a reaction and summary of it to receive credit. Write a 100-word essay discussing what you have learned.
4. Find a song in Spanish/French that interests you. Create a worksheet for the lyrics (along with the answers). Be prepared to give a 5-10 sentence summary of the song’s theme. Also, provide a copy of the lyrics to be approved by the teacher at least 24 hours before you present it to the class. At this time, you should also have your worksheet ready so the teacher can make enough copies for the class.
5. Find 3 Spanish/French video clips. They must be appropriate to show in class.
Videos can be instructional or humorous as long as they are relevant to language learning.
(ex: “Puedo ir al bano”, “First semester Spanish Love Song”, “The Translator”)
Email links to videos to Mrs. Hill @ [email protected]
If you have any other ideas or suggestions for earning extra credit please feel free to make a suggestion. You will only receive credit upon prior teacher approval of your idea.
Remember! You have to HAVE credit BEFORE you can get and EXTRA credit!
(in other words, do your work! This does not substitute for your assignments.)
